Faculty members from the Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences, Chiang Mai University, presented their research at the Innovation Contest for the National Research Awards, Fiscal Year 2027, organized by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, held on September 9–10, 2026, at the National Research Council of Thailand, Bangkok.

Professor Dr. Sakorn Pornprasert, a lecturer in the Department of Medical Technology, presented his research entitled “A Reagent Kit for the Diagnosis of Alpha-0 Thalassemia SEA, Thai, and Chiang Rai in a Single Reaction Tube Using Real-Time PCR Combined with High-Resolution Melting Analysis.”

Meanwhile, Assistant Professor Dr. Kittichai Wantanajittikul, a lecturer in the Department of Radiologic Technology, and Assistant Professor Dr. Siriphan Kongsawasdi, a lecturer in the Department of Physical Therapy, presented their research entitled “A Wireless IMU Sensor System for Assessing Balance and Movement in Older Adults.”

This presentation reflects the research and innovation potential of faculty members from the Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences, Chiang Mai University, in advancing research that addresses health needs and improves people's quality of life in practical ways.
