Mr. CHEDTAPAK RUENGDIT, a medical technologist at the Special Laboratory Unit (Thalassemia Section), Associated Medical Sciences Clinical Service Center, Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences (AMS), Chiang Mai University, successfully won the 1st Runner-Up Award for Oral Presentation.

His award-winning research is titled “Frequency Determination of Thalassemias and Hemoglobinopathies in Northern Thailand Using DNA Nanoball Sequencing,” which was supervised by Professor Dr. SAKORN PORNPRASERT, a faculty member of the Department of Medical Technology.

This prestigious accolade was awarded at the 27th National Thalassemia Seminar 2026, held under the theme "Thalassemia-Free Generations Through Advanced Laboratory Technologies." The seminar was co-organized by the Department of Medical Sciences and the Thalassemia Foundation of Thailand from July 22–24, 2026, at the Miracle Grand Convention Hotel in Bangkok.
