The Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences (AMS), Chiang Mai University, led by Professor Dr. Sakorn Pornprasert (Dean) and Associate Professor Dr. Ratchada Cressey (Associate Dean), welcomed Dr. Scott T. Rottinghaus, Chief Medical Officer of Enanta Pharmaceuticals, Inc., USA. The visit was arranged by Dr. Timothy R. Cressey and Mrs. Pra-ornsuda Sukrakanchana from the PHPT Research Unit (Program for HIV Prevention and Treatment) to discuss potential research collaborations. The meeting took place at the Dean’s Office on Monday, February 16, 2026.

The PHPT Research Unit and the Faculty, in partnership with the Penta Foundation through the AMS-PHPT Research Collaboration, are discussing with Enanta a collaboration to develop treatments for Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV). PHPT’s collaborative network centers throughout Thailand have a strong history of conducting clinical trials in collaboration with global pharmaceutical companies.

This collaboration marks a significant milestone in expanding the Faculty's international research network. It aims to drive innovation in RSV treatment for children and enhance pediatric healthcare standards both nationally and internationally.
