Mr. Rapeepol Phochanathan, Ms. Ploynaphat Pisitpipatthana, and Ms. Amonlakkhana Onyai, fourth-year students in the Medical Technology Program, Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences, Chiang Mai University, won the Gold Medal at the I-NEW GEN AWARD 2026 at the tertiary education level in the Health and Medical Sciences category.

The award was received for their innovation titled “SmartRetic: Ready-to-Use Staining Kit with Reticulocyte Counting Software.” This work was developed as a senior project under the supervision of Associate Professor Dr. Suwit Duangmano, Department of Medical Technology, and Assistant Professor Dr. Kittichai Wantanajittikul, Department of Radiologic Technology, Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences, Chiang Mai University.

The competition was held from January 5–9, 2026, at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC), Bangna, Bangkok.
