The Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences (AMS), Chiang Mai University, in collaboration with Bangkok Genomics Innovation Public Company Limited, organized the Inaugural Meeting of the Southeast Asia Thalassemia Prevention Alliance (SEATPA).

His Excellency Pattana Promphat, Minister of Public Health, graciously presided over the event. Assistant Professor Piriya Cherdsatīrakul, Vice President of Chiang Mai University, along with Professor Dr. Sakorn Pornprasert, Dean, and Associate Professor Dr. Ratchada Cressey, Assistant Dean, offered a warm welcome to the attendees.

The meeting was held on Monday, November 24, 2025, at the Ang Kaew Guest House Meeting Room, Chiang Mai University.

SEATPA is a regional collaborative network that connects experts, researchers, government agencies, public health systems, and the industry sector. Its mission is to collectively drive the “Prevention–Diagnosis–Care” of Thalassemia through genetic solutions and joint policy-making across Southeast Asia.
