Professor Dr. Sakorn Pornprasert, Dean of the Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences, Chiang Mai University, recently attended The 5th China–ASEAN Forum on Health Cooperation: Towards a Health Silk Road (Sub-Forum on Hospital Management) in Nanning, People's Republic of China, from September 26–28, 2025.

During the forum, Dean Pornprasert participated in the official signing of a major cooperation agreement establishing the “China (Guangxi) – Thailand (Chiang Mai) Joint Clinical Competency Training Center.” This new partnership, which includes the Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences, the Faculty of Nursing, Chiang Mai University, and Guangxi Medical University, is set to advance international academic cooperation in public health.

The Dean was also invited to give a special lecture on “International Medical Cooperation for Thalassemia Prevention, Control, and Treatment.” The presentation covered critical topics such as screening, hemoglobin analysis, DNA testing, and prenatal care. This highlighted Chiang Mai University's renowned expertise in Hematology and Laboratory Medicine and emphasized its continuous commitment to fostering regional health cooperation.
