With outstanding achievements in strengthening public health systems, the research project titled “Challenges of Infectious Diseases for Public Health in Southeast Asia”, supported by the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) from 2016 to 2021, is currently in its second phase (2021–2026).

This collaborative initiative brings together the Faculty of Medical Technology, Chiang Mai University, the Program for HIV Prevention and Treatment (PHPT), and the French National Research Institute for Sustainable Development (IRD). The project aims to promote, develop, and design novel diagnostic strategies to prevent the widespread transmission of infectious diseases. These efforts are expected to strengthen public health capacities in Thailand and extend these benefits to neighboring countries across Southeast Asia.

The project also benefits from the expertise of renowned international researchers, including Dr. Gonzague Jourdain, Dr. Nicole Ngo-Giang-Huong, Dr. Timothy R. Cressey, Dr. Marc Lallemant, Dr. Sophie Le Coeur, and Dr. Nicolas Salvador. The research team continues to produce impactful findings, aiming to meet all project goals within the scheduled timeframe while developing new innovations and practical knowledge applicable to public health systems in Thailand, the Southeast Asian region, and globally.
