Welcome Speech from the Dean
On behalf of all lecturers and staff, I am pleased to welcome all of you to the Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences at Chiang Mai University. Our faculty has an outstanding reputation for teaching, research and community services.
We currently offer 2 international post-graduate courses and 5 national courses from 4 disciplines, including Medical Technology (MT), Radiologic Technology (RT), Occupational Therapy (OT) and Physical Therapy (PT). We nurture our graduate students with leading academics, research skills and 21st century skills. Faculty research scholarships are provided for all students in addition to the University scholarships.
Our academic staff have substantial experience supervising student research projects and have received outstanding research awards from National and International Institutes and conferences. For example, Prof.Dr. Watchara Kasinrerk who has received multiple outstanding awards i.e., the Research Innovation Award from TRF in 2013, the Dushdi Mala for the distinguish scientist in 2011, the Outstanding Scientist and Technologist Award in 2009, and the Outstanding Scientist (Biotechnology) in 2008. Also, junior lecturers have been awarded young scientist awards. In 2018, our research quality was ranked (first for RT and OT, second for MT, third for PT) by the Thailand Research Fund (TRF). We are confident that our lecturers are able to provide students with extensive teaching and professional experience.
Our goals are to foster graduates, who are capable of creating new knowledge and conducting research. Additionally, we hope that the graduates will enjoy the life with a natural environment and peaceful culture in Chiang Mai throughout the study period. I am happy to welcome you to join us and embark on this exciting journey together.
